This retro style fine furniture signature seat is inspired by the poise and movement of its name sake, with the asymmetry in the placement of the legs. From conversations about the need for suitable chairs for nursing mothers, reading to children and private space Simon designed the seat for comfort and with generous proportions.
In keeping with his philosophy on minimal process, materials are from a renewable source and processing is kept to a minimum.
This seat can be made in different timbers, however the contrasting timber colours in the Huon Pine and Tasmanian Blackwood really makes this piece stand out. Also notice how elegantly the attachment of the seat to the shell is achieved with the hand made stainless steel button like fixtures.
