This contemporary sofa bench sideboard is a variation of a sideboard, made from recycled Red Cedar from an old dining suite.
It is a multi purpose piece made with armrests on the ends so it can be used as either a bench seat or sideboard, The upper surface is at chair height, It has a removable tray table bridging the armrests that can be used for display or entertaining and large generous drawers for storage.
The Sofa Bench as the name implies, is well suited to a position behind a three or four seat sofa in an open plan situation or to divide a space, as it is equally well finished on the reverse side.
With the addition of cushions it becomes a very comfortable bench seat. Being a bespoke piece it can be made longer and incorporate a backrest. It can also be made in a variety of timbers.
